About Cyrus Razzaghi
After serving as a Senior Executive at one of the world’s largest software companies at the time (Computer Associates, presently CA Technologies: www.ca.com), Cyrus left UK/Canada in 2003 to explore opportunities in the Middle East, mainly in Iran, his birthplace. While building one of Iran’s largest boutique management consultancies (Ara Enterprise: www.AraEnterprise.com) and launching several other successful companies/ventures, he became interested in Iran’s complex political and economic landscapes, and started research in various areas including Iran’s political economy.
During the last 10 years in Iran, he has helped many global companies enter and/or expand in Iran including some of the best known brands in diverse industries from automotive and heavy machinery to retail and consumer products, providing strategy advice to help them get a foothold in the market and compete while staying out of the harm’s way with regards to domestic and international risks associated with doing business with/in Iran.
Interacting with many political personalities from various factions, some of Iran’s largest public and private companies, as well as with foreign brands present in the country, he has become very familiar with both the political and business environments in Iran.
He has written numerous articles and research papers and has been interviewed by publications and news agencies ranging from The Wall Street Journal and Financial Times to Reuters and BBC (search on Google, under: Cyrus Razzaghi or Amir Cyrus Razzaghi). He is currently working on a couple of book projects on Iran (one with a well-known French writer and Iran expert, Michel Makinsky). He regularly presents at various universities and Chambers of Commerce (including Paris) on general or industry-specific topics related to Iran.
He holds business degrees including EMBA, MBA, Bachelor of Commerce and International Management Diploma from Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC), London School of Economics (LSE), New York University (NYU) and University of British Columbia (UBC) and is working toward his PhD.
